This review provides an in depth look at the quality and performance of the

Genesis Original Bow

Growing up in Mobile, Alabama, and born into a hunting family, everyone in my immediate family loves to hunt. I have spent many weekends with my brothers, and father in the woods hunting game. Learning to shoot when I was ten, and I began using a bow shortly after.

The bonding my father, brothers, and I experienced during these hunting trips is something I hold dearly in my heart. Reminiscing about the first time using a bow is one of the memories of my childhood that I will never forget.

While the Genesis Bow, which I will be reviewing is not ideal for hunting, it reminds of when I was first learning to shot, as this is an excellent bow for beginners.

Who should consider the Genesis Bow?

The Genesis Original Bow is excellent for all ages and skill levels, typically ideal for competition. Due to the Genesis minimal to no let-off makes this a good option for beginners and young people.

Often young archers begin with a bow that is too heavy, and they compensate their inability to control the bow and develop poor arching skills. The Genesis only weighs 5.2 pounds, making it easy to handle for those just starting to learn about archery.

Build

The Genesis Bow is the first to be designed to be used a lifetime as it doesn’t have any draw length requirements, so young archers cannot outgrow it. Also, this premium built bow includes high-strength bowstrings, composite limbs, a 6061-T6 aluminum cam, and an idler wheel.

The Genesis bow consists of a sleek tube quiver for the five aluminum target arrows also included and an adjustable arm guard with Velcro straps. There is also a stainless-steel cable slide and steel wire guard, with a competition grip. The armrest on the Genesis is modeled after the NAP flipper.

Unlike other bows on the market, the Genesis Original Bow has far less recoil, is much quieter and more accurate due to being built using single-cam technology. The Genesis Bow includes a 3/16-inch hex wrench as you can adjust the draw weight from the default setting of 20 pounds to 10 pounds.

What do you get with the purchase?

The Genesis Original is a great bow, especially for its value. You may find other bows on the market come with various sight scopes for hunting, 3D compounded, recurved.

Other bows may come with stabilizers of all sorts, plunger kits, and grips. At first glance, this may sound like a good thing and give the illusion of you getting great value for the price.

The catch is, in most cases the cost for these accessories is baked into the cost and often cheaply made to keep the manufacturer’s profit margins large and you, the consumer ends up having to replace these broken accessories.

The Genesis includes no accessories, just a well-built bow and an arrow rest. The makers of the Genesis Bow built each to be thoroughly drilled and tapped, allowing for many additional accessories if you desire.

If you decide to purchase the Genesis Bow as part of the kit, in addition to the five aluminum target arrows, adjustable arm guard, Velcro straps, stainless-steel cable slide and steel wire guard you also get a belt tube quiver and 3/16-inch hex wrench for adjusting.

Cost

The Genesis Bow is very reasonably priced considering the value and performance. When you handle the bow, you will understand why it is the official bow of the National Archery in the Schools Program, as the NASP requires a good, sturdy bow that is not too heavy for students but durable. Priced from $170 to about $249, the Genesis is 100 percent made and manufactured in the United States.

Final Thoughts about the Genesis Original Bow

The Genesis is an ideal bow for beginners and young children new to archery, that being said, it is also a good bow for virtually everyone, at all skill levels. With its sturdy build with quality materials, it is entirely built to last and withstand heavy usage and wear and tear.

With only 10 to 20 pounds of draw weight required, the Genesis bow is perfectly designed to encourage proper form during the critical beginning stages of learning to use a bow. The price, value, and reviews make this a great option, and I highly recommend it for children and adults alike.
